Magazine # 54 Reviewed By Allen F.
This issue is a real good one. Featuring we have a look
at The Sadist, Suspect Zero, Best Genre DVDs of 2004 and this
is also the Special International Cult-Movie edition bringing
on topics from around the world of genre DVD. I really enjoyed
the article on the film Astro Zombie as I like the author saw
that years ago and that film is a gas. Interesting and informative
DVD reviews plaster this issue as well, like a good look at
the Mark of the Devil on DVD for example. The article that is
of most interest perhaps to Kyonsi readers would be the Asian
Invasion A Go-Go section featuring reviews of releases from
the East via Adness, Artsmagic, HVE, Pathfinder, and Tartan.
Including DVD reviews on Gozu, Phone and more. A great mag pick
it up today. |

Fanaddict # 1 Reviewed By Allen F.
Issue # 1 of the 32 page non-mainstream film zine Film
Fanaddict is now available. I have just read the sample copy
of debut Issue # 1 and find the zine an enjoyable read. Covering
cult, asian and horror the magazine has a good selection of
genre reviews and articles for the film fanatics (fanaddicts)
everywhere. The zine is well laid out and is a newsprint zine
with multi color cover. The newsprint adds to the zines character
and remind me of the zines of the 1980's (pre glossy zine days).
FF # 1 has an in depth look at the Takashi Miike Black Society
trilogy from Artsmagic and also a Angel Guts article on the
box set also from Artsmagic. In addition we get a Shaun of the
Dead feature, HG Lewis Interview, Tura Satana Interview, some
more Miike DVD reviews and music reviews of gore oriented cds.
A great first effort and we look forward to more from Film Fanaddict.
