Violent # 6 Reviewed By Allen F.
Issue #6 of UV Magazine contains a very in depth
interview with Hideshi Hino the director of the Guinea Pig
film series. Six Pages total in this issue alone about both
the Guinea Pig series and the interview very impressive and
informative. Also this issue contains a seven page interview
with the Cannibal King of the all Ruggero Deodato. Also as
in depth and informative as the Hino interview. Also there
are articles on Something Weird Video, Various exploitation
genres, more interviews, DVD reviews for some far out films
like Mermaid in a Manhole, A Tale of Two Sisters, The Eye
2, Ichi The Killer: Un rated SE, Haute Tension and more. Asian
film fans as well as International and gore fanatics will
love this mag's content. This was my first time reading it
and it is very well done, Recommended! |

Violent # 6 Reviewed By Allen F.
Another great gore drenched issue from the UV mag
crew. Again this issue has some content of Asian Horror interest.
Contents include the Japanese Zombie Extravaganza article/interview
with Atsushi (Junk) Muroga. That's right a two page chat with
the Director of the Japanese zombie splatterfest Junk. This
is a short interview but it covers a few topics like censorship
of certain things in Japanese films. There is a good interview
also with Director Jeff Lieberman in case you don't know he
brought us the classic US films Squirm, Blue Sunshine and
Just Before Dawn. Some serious worm talk in that article.
DVD reviews, good interviews and gore film articles. UV accepts
Paypal and is quick to ship issues. An A+ cult and horror
mag pick yours up today. Also see our links page for the UV

Cultcuts
# 1 Reviewed By Allen F.
The premiere issue of the Washington based horror and
cult mag that's now in its 3 or 4 Issue I believe. They do
cover a fair amount of material of interest to Asian horror
film fans. The glossy cover is impressive as is the layout
and content of this up and coming zine. The zine I am happy
to report is worth the $5.95 cover price and if ordered from
their web site has low shipping and handling. I was also pleased
with this as I had gone to order a back issue of a Canadian
based zine the other day and they wanted about $7.00 for the
s/h. Yet Cultcuts is affordable and wallet friendly. The low
s/h price is a plus. This Issue has a large article and the
cover story about The Ring Cycle (Ringu Films) as well as
bits on Asian horror favorites like Painted Skin, Nang Nak,
and The Ebola Syndrome. Recommended! |
