genre. This worthy read covers a ton of films, actors and directors.
The book gives us a background and history of Japanese Yakuza
films and the origins and ideas they present. Illustrated with
poster art and still as well as images of the actors and directors.
The Yakuza Movie Book is a look into the world of crime and
brutality that is all to familiar in this brutal and sometime
controversial film genre. Looking into faves like Actor Riki
Takiuchi and madcap Director Takashi Miike this book covers
the genre with informative and first had info's from the sources
directly. Also of interest to horror fans as the book does deal
with some genre faves like Miike and covers a great number of
ultra violent Japanese films.

This book is also an asset to the Asian Horror film
genre fan. Laurence Bush has compiled this A-Z book on who's
who and what's what in the Asian Horror Literature genre. The
book does not cover actual films but cover the literary sources
and writers of alot of material that has been made into Asian
horror films. Also the monsters of all the Asian countries are
detailed and clearly explained. This is a book I pull of the
shelf all the time too look up creature names and origins when
researching and viewing Asian horror flicks. This book is highly
recommended and easy to use as a reference. The author had originally
set out to do a book on just Japanese materials but found out
they all tie in with other countries like China, Korea and More.
Well researched and written, A must have order it today. (Recommended
